Quick takeaways

What to remember

  • Deal with injuries, traffic danger and authority instructions before arranging towing.
  • Describe wheel, steering, fluid and access conditions without guessing.
  • Confirm the workshop or authorised destination with the relevant party.

01

Make the scene safe before discussing transport

Do not focus on moving the motorcycle while someone may be injured or traffic remains dangerous. Contact the appropriate emergency or road authority and follow its directions. A tow should proceed only when the motorcycle may be collected and the scene can be approached safely.

If you are able to move away from traffic safely, wait in a protected location and keep your phone available. Do not stand beside a downed motorcycle in a live lane to take photographs.

02

Describe the motorcycle without assuming it is rideable

A bike can look mostly intact while its controls, front end, wheel alignment or braking system are affected. Tell dispatch whether it is upright, whether each wheel moves and whether the steering turns. Mention leaking fluid, loose bodywork or sharp damaged parts.

Photos may help explain the recovery when they are safe and permitted. Capture the overall position and obvious motorcycle damage, but do not delay authority instructions or expose yourself to traffic for a better image.

  • Exact safe pickup point
  • Whether authorities permit collection
  • Wheel and steering condition
  • Visible leaks or unstable parts
  • Workshop or holding destination

03

Agree where the motorcycle should go

The destination may be a workshop selected by the rider, a workshop identified by an insurer, a home or another authorised location. Confirm the address and receiving contact. Siva Towing can discuss the recovery transport, but it does not decide insurance coverage, liability or settlement.

If the final repair destination is not yet known, explain the immediate safe handover required. Avoid directing a motorcycle to a closed premises without an agreed recipient.

04

Keep towing and insurance decisions separate

Transport records, photographs and clear handover details can be useful, but they do not determine the outcome of an insurance claim. Ask the insurer or appointed adviser what it requires and use WhatsApp to discuss only the motorcycle recovery arrangement with Siva.

This separation prevents a towing conversation from being mistaken for legal, repair or insurance advice. For current accident and insurance-related service information, contact the team with the exact situation.

Important

Follow the current emergency, authority, insurer, workshop, inspection, legal and cross-border instructions that apply to your situation. Contact the relevant provider whenever a requirement is unclear.
